Our History

Our History

Northern Light is a part of the churches of Christ from the Restoration Movement.  The churches of Christ are a fellowship of autonomous churches.  Our movement has historically emphasized unity, the importance of Scripture and the love of others.  The Northern Light Church of Christ spent 45 faithful years as the Brooklyn Center Church of Christ in Brooklyn Center, MN.  After the sale of our building, we spent two years in transition in Maple Grove.  In 2007, our church family moved to Brooklyn Park, MN to continue serving God and loving the people in our community. We took the name Northern Light Church of Christ and claimed 2 Corinthians 4:6 as a theme verse: “Let light shine out of darkness!” God has put new wind in our sails! He has given us a healthy history, solid shepherds, a working staff, a generous membership, a new building, and plentiful opportunities for godly growth. God has given us the power to shine.
